Warm welcome accorded to Chief Justices and legal luminaries from 70 countries

A grand reception was accorded to the jurists and legal luminaries arrived at Lucknow from 70 countries of the world to participate in the 12th International Conference of Chief Justices of the world organized by City Montessori School. While the presence of Chief Justices, Judges, Legal luminaries and peace promotor from 70 countries of the world at the ‘Welcome Ceremony’ organized today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium brought fame to the city of Lucknow, the colourful educational cultural programme presented by the students of CMS in the honour of these eminent guests added the flavor of unity in diversity to this great event. Earlier the Chief Guest, Governor of M.P., H.E. Shri Ram Naresh Yadav, formally inaugurated the welcome ceremony by lighting the lamp while Hon’ble Shri Nakul Dubey, Minister for Urban Development, U.P. presided over the ceremony. On this occasion the special guest, Mayor of Lucknow Dr. Dinesh Sharma presented the ‘Key to the City of Lucknow’ to Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr. former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of the Philippines on behalf of the citizens of Lucknow for his unparalleled services in favour of the children of the world and the Convener of the conference and CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi welcomed all the eminent guests. It may be mentioned that the 12th International Conference of Chief Justices of the world is being organized under the aegis of City Montessori School from 9th to 12th December in which around 225 Chief Justices, Judges, legal luminaries and representatives of prestigious peace organizations from 70 countries of the world will be deliberating over ensuring a safe future for the world’s children.
In his address to the audience, Chief Guest of the welcome ceremony, His Excellency the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Shri Ram Naresh Yadav commended CMS for raising its voice in favour of the children’s rights. He said that today all nations need to join hands in ensuring a safe future for the world’s children as every child has right to a clean environment and social security. Shri Yadav said that there is an urgent need of forming an international legal system for purging this world of the disorder, terrorism and global problems. In his address, the special guest of the occasion, Dr. Dinesh Sharma said that the citizens of Lucknow will never let the light of world unity extinguish.
Earlier, in the afternoon, the Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries addressed a press conference at CMS Kanpur Road in which they discussed the aims and objectives of the conference. Addressing the Press Conference, Hon’ble Mr Justice B. J. Odoki, Chief Justice of Uganda, said that the time has come for the whole world to be united under a World Judicial System. Only then can we hope to wipe out grave global problems like terrorism from the face of the earth. Chief Justice of Afghanistan, Hon’ble Mr Justice Prof Abdul Salam Azimi, said that the greatest need of hour is that the countries of the world are united. We must be concerned for the safety of our neighbours also along with our own well-being. Similarly, the Deputy President of Supreme Court of Israel, Mr Justice Eliezer Rivlin said that we have full faith that in this International Conference organized by CMS, we will gain new inspiration on the sacred soil of India, to brighten our tomorrow and form a New World Order. Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Seychelles Mr Justice Fredrick Egonda-Ntende said that often the geographical conditions do not suit humanity and people become prey of natural disasters like Tsunami or earthquakes. If there will be coordination among the countries, then humanity can be saved and Enforceable International Law and Order will have greater effectiveness. The former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Philippines Mr Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr., said that earlier it seemed impossible to talk of reforms in United Nations Organization but now it is discussed in the whole world and the coming time will definitely be for effective international world order in which all nations will have equal rights and the children would breathe in an atmosphere of unity and peace. Similarly, the Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries from various countries also expressed their views.
Renowned educationist, Founder of City Montessori School and Convener of the ‘International Conference of the Chief Justices of the World’, Dr Jagdish Gandhi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, Chief Justices and top legal experts and said that their participation has made the politicians realize ‘world unity and world peace’ is the only way to save the humanity from devastation. He said that two billion children of the world are appealing to and looking up with great expectation at the world judiciary. They are extremely fearful of the dangerous consequences of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons developed by nations. It is our foremost duty at this juncture, to come forward and take some concrete steps to safeguard the future of coming generations.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr. Hari Om Sharma said that during the next three days of this historic conference, the Chief justices and legal luminaries will ponder and deliberate on the future security of two billion children of the world and formation of a World Parliament and World Constitution to enact powerful and enforceable International laws for the benefit of humanity. He informed that this historic conference will have a formal opening tomorrow on Saturday, 10 December 2011 at 9.00 at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. Minister for Law & Justice, Govt. of India, Mr Salman Khurshid will be the Chief guest on this occasion. Mr Sharma informed that these renowned legal experts from various countries will also be participating in “World Unity March” of CMS on 10 and 11 December 2011 to lend their voice in the call for safeguarding the future of the world’s two billion children. World Unity March will commence at 8.00 am on both the days from Purani Chungi, Kanpur Road and culminate at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium.
