Dr. Manorama Singh, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Lucknow spoke in her inaugural speech that Education is life long process and motivated the students for enrolling in the programmes offered by IGNOU. Dr. Singh discussed about simultaneous registration that, student may enroll for Certificate Programme of six months duration while pursuing under graduate or post graduate programmes. Dr. Singh also spoke that IGNOU has developed various programmes as Certificate in Anti Human Trafficking (CAHT), Certificate in Disaster Management (CDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management (PGDDM), Certificate in Human Rights (CHR) and Post Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law (PGCCL), which are useful for employability. IGNOU has been awarded with Award of Excellence for its Study Material by Common Wealth of Learning in 1999.

Dr. Reena Kumari, Assistant Regional Director spoke that IGNOU Degrees, Diplomas, Certificate are recognized by the member Universities of the Association of Indian Universities and are at par with the degree/diplomas/certificates of all Indian Universities/Institutions as per the UGC. On this occasion approximate 250 college students and academic counselors were present. Dr. Reena Kumari, told that last date for admission in July, 2017 cycle is 31st July, 2017. Interested students may apply online for admission through the link given on IGNOU website. Further she spoke that IGNOU provides facility of placement through “Placement Cell”.
