Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways inspected today the Allahabad Jn. Station and Kumbh Mela arrangements of railways during his visit to Allahabad. On the occasion Hon’ble Minister inspected the various passenger facilities being developed by North Central Railway for Kumbh Mela pilgrim rush including directionwise colour coded passenger enclosures and facilities provided in them along with that Shri Chowdhury also asked the officers about the details regarding display boards and announcement systems for public information dessimnation system. During the inspection Shri Alok Johri, General Manager, North Central Railway explained about the traffic movement plan to Hon’ble Minister.
During the inspection Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also saw Platforms, Janahaar, crew lobby, and newly installed escalators on the station. Shri Chowdhury also talked to passengers regarding quality of food items in Janahaar and discussed with loco pilots present in crew lobby about the facilities available to them. Hon’ble Minister also saw the additional CCTV arrangements installed for strenthening security at Allahabad Jn. station. Shri Chowdhury directed the officials to ensure cleanliness during ensuing peak days of mela rush. During inspection he also took the views of general passengers about mela arrangements by railways. Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways also inspected the facilities provided by North Central Railway in Sangam Mela area like ticket windows and had the views of passengers available there about these facilities.
On the occasion while talking to media persons he expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and said that the directionwise colour coding system is a very good and innovative effort of North Central Railway.
