Two students from Lucknow, Tanaya Thakur and her brother Aditya today
filed a case under section 156(3) CrPC before CJM Lucknow for filing
of an FIR against Hyderabad MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for delivering
provocative speech. CJM Rajesh Upadhyay has sought report from the
Gomti Nagar police station on 18 January 2013. Rohit Tripathi is the
counsel of the petitioners.
In his speech Owaisi gave certain statements which were highly
inflammatory in nature and had the potential of disturbing the
communal harmony of the nation. Tanaya and Aditya requested
registering FIR under sections 153A, 295A, 298, 504, 505, 506 IPC and
66A IT Act 2000.
Station Officer, Gomti Nagar S K Gautam had bluntly refused
registering FIR saying that he would register an FIR only when any law
and order problem erupts and not before this.
