The 193rd birth anniversary of Prophet Bab, Founder Prophet of Baha’i Faith, was celebrated with great joy and rejoicing by the Area Baha’i Teaching Committee, Alambagh, Lucknow at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. On this occasion, a huge gathering of Baha’is offered their prayers to Prophet Bab and filled the auditorium with spiritual light. Several events such as reading of Holy Writings, hymns and prayers dedicated to Prophet Bab marked the function and cultural events like music and dance were also orgnaized. Eminent Baha’i followers were present on this occasion.
Baha’i follower and renowned educationist, Dr Bharti Gandhi, Founder-Director of City Montessori School, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, said that Baha’i Faith stands on the foundation of unity and love. The Faith is fully focussed on the establishment of a peaceful world by ending all wars and is working to knit the whole world with the thread of unity, love and spiritualism. She further said that golden era of human history will dawn when feelings of hatred, jealousy and greed are removed from human hearts and brotherhood, love and understanding prevail. For this, a firm determination and an iron will were needed. Strong world visionaries are destined to play an important role in bringing peace, order and unity in the world. The other Baha’i speakers who came on the stage said that Baha’i means to be ready to love the entire humanity and to serve it whenever required. They unanimously said that human development has been obstructed by wars, exploitations, injustice and prejudices but instead of getting affected by these we must move ahead towards progress with our mutual maturity.
Some of the main teachings of the Baha’is are - God is One, all religions are one and the whole humanity is one, all false beliefs and prejudices should be removed, man should search for the truth himself, a universal language should be developed, man and woman are equal, education should be universal and compulsory, religion and science should go hand in hand, excessive wealth disparity should be abolished, a world government should be formed and the diversity in cultures should be maintained. The main idea of the Baha’i faith is to unite mankind into a single global unit taking actions as removal of prejudices, broadening the outlook, establishing a new world order and creating a world government which would ensure that all the citizens of the world receive food, clothing, shelter, water and make provisions for the comfort of all humankind residing on this planet. The whole world will thus be rid of poverty, hunger and starvation. A new world society will flourish in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
