The last date for online receipt of applications under the government of India’s post-matric scholarship scheme for the students belonging to minority communities has been extended from September 30 to October 31 next. Giving this information the Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Azam Khan said that on the request frequently made by the state government the last date under this scheme had been extended in order to facilitate achievement of the targets given to the state.
Mr. Khan said that in view of the extended date, the district magistrates had been directed again to ensure effective action for receipt of applications as per the given target of the scheme through its wide publicity.
Mr. Azam Khan also said that the last date of getting opened bank accounts of the students under the pre-matric scholarship scheme being conducted by the state government for minority communities had also been extended from September 30 to October 15 next in order to give one more opportunity to the students who had not opened their bank account so far. All the district magistrates have been directed accordingly, he added.
