- Pilgrims Asked to Report to Haj House 48 Hours before their Flights
- Newly Selected Pilgrims Urged to Complete Formalities
The Chairman, UP State Haj Committee and Minister for Minorities Welfare and Haj, Mohammad Azam Khan has urged upon the Haj pilgrims boarding from Lucknow embarkation point to report to the Ali Miyan Haj House at Sarojininagar here 48 hours before the departure time of their flights. This would, he added, help in completing all their Haj related formalities in time and making their journey to Saudi Arabia hassle-free.
Mr. Khan said that the last flights for Haj would depart on October 05 next from Lucknow. He advised the pilgrims boarding these flights to positively report to the Haj House on October 03 next. Any laxity in this regard, he cautioned, might take away from them the opportunity of going to Haj.
The Chairman has also requested the Haj pilgrims recently selected from serial no. 10157 to 10174 of the waiting list to immediately deposit the required amount (only for Aziziya category) in the account of the Haj Committee of India through any branch of the State Bank of India. If any of these newly-selected pilgrims, he said, had so far not submitted his/her passport, they should submit it immediately along with a copy their photograph to the office of the State Haj Committee at the Haj House here.
Mr. Azam Khan said that following the efforts made by the state government the Central Government had increased the state quota of Haj pilgrims from 25389 to 32496. Out of this quota, the seats of 32052 Haj pilgrims have been confirmed by the Centre. He said that the waiting list of the Haj pilgrims of the state was up to 11363 out of which the seats of Haj pilgrims up to 10174 had been confirmed. He said that the Haj pilgrims in the waiting list from 10175 to 11363 would be cleared in a couple of days as assured by the Central Government. He said that the Haj pilgrims just after getting confirmation of their seats would have to on-line deposit the total amount in the account of the Haj Committee of India within a day so that formalities regarding their travel could be completed as early as possible.
Today, 600 Haj pilgrims boarded two flights for Saudi Arabia from Amausi Airport here. Similarly, 250 Haj pilgrims also went to Medina by air today from Babatpur airport of Varanasi. So far, 17549 Haj pilgrims of the state have boarded for Saudi Arabia from Delhi, Lucknow and Varanasi.
