The youth icon of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Mr Akhilesh Yadav will be inaugurating the fourth ‘Internatinal Children’s Film Festival (ICFF-2012)’ being organized by City Montessori School, on 10 April at 9.00 am at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. On this occasion, Master Darsheel Safari, the famed child actor of popular film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ will also grace the event as special guest. Mr Hari Om Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS informed. Mr Sharma said that CMS Films Division is organizing this nine-day 4th International Children’s Film Festival consecutively for the fourth year from 10 to 18 April 2012 at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium in which 252 the best educational films of 36 countries will be screened.
Mr Sharma informed that several film celebrities will be coming to Lucknow to add beauty and charm to this International Children’s Film Festival. Some of them are Master Darsheel Shafari, famous child actor of popular film ‘Taare Jameen Par’, child actor Amey Pandya, famous lyricist and Poet Mr Javed Akhtar, veteran Bollywood actor Mr Raza Murad, renowned singer Ms Usha Utthup, Playback singer Mr Babul Supriyo and actress Ms Vedita Pratap Singh, Vaishali Desai and Preeti Desai etc. The best educative films of USA, Argentina, Italy, Greece, Germany, Bangladesh, Serbia, Taiwan, France, Turkey, Portugal, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Spain, Belgium, UK, Israel, Pakistan, Iran, Croatia, Estonia, Russia, Japan, Canada, China, Poland, UAE, Czech Republic, Nepal, Iceland, Hong Kong, Mexico, Ireland, Belarus, Hungary and India will be shown free of charge during the film festival. Besides this, the best films will be awarded the cash prize worth Rs. 10 lakhs for various categories besides their screening during the International Children’s Film Festival.
Mr Sharma informed that the International Children’s Film Festival is free of cost for one and all and children, youth, parents, guardians and teachers of all the schools of Lucknow are welcome and invited to see children’s films on ‘first come first serve’ basis. He explained that everyday, there will be two film shows for students, parents and teachers - first show from 9.00 am and second show from 12 noon.
Mr Sharma said that main aim of this International Children’s Film Festival is to develop moral, character building and spiritualistic qualities in children and youths through educative children’s films to make them ideal citizens. He opined that the audio-visual is the lively, easy and simple method to teach values to children and the last three year’s International Film Festival had been a great success. He hoped that this year’s event will also be an unforgettable success.
