*Massive irregularities in NRHM in UP; thousands of crores of rupees siphoned off. *
*Two Chief Medical Officers murdered, a third found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a state jail. *
*Rs.3,500 crore central funds provided in NRHM disappear into pockets of corrupt politicians and officials of  Mayawati government. *
*Several crores misappropriated in procurement of medical equipments and other supplies at highly inflated rates.*
*Lakhs of poor people, including thousands of young mothers, in district after district of Uttar Pradesh, denied basic health care despite funds in plentiful being made available by the central government.  *
*Two ministers, Anant Kumar Mishra and Babu Singh Kushwaha, of Mayawati government forced to resign.

The decision of Hon’ble Allahabad High Court on Tuesday to order a CBI probe, which prima facie establishes irregularities, into the functioning of NRHM across entire Uttar Pradesh has vindicated what the Congress Party has been saying all along and what the Congress General Secretary Sh. Rahul Gandhi has been saying all along -

“THAT the Mayawati government has duped the poorest people of Uttar Pradesh of the money that was meant for their health care, under various NRHM projects.

THAT any other state government, say in Mahrashtra, Delhi, Haryana or Punjab would have resigned on the same day if a scam of such proportion would have been unearthed.”

It is now time for the Mayawati government to answer :

Where have these thousands of crores of Rupees disappeared?
What was the real reason behind the brutal murders of two Senior Doctors associated with NRHM and what is the mystery behind the death of a third doctor inside a jail hospital?
Who are those people in the medical mafia that the media in Lucknow and even the national press keeps talking about?
The Congress Party will not rest until it gets these answers.
The people of Uttar Pradesh need to know where has the all the money earmarked for their healthcare gone?

*THE PEOPLE OF UTTAR PRADESH HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW. *

In fact, the people of India have a right to know where has the tax-payers’ money disappeared.
In the days, weeks and months to come, Congress Party activists will travel to various cities, small towns, kasbas, villages, taking up the issue of NRHM with people who matter i.e. the common man of Uttar Pradesh - the same common man that Mayawati claims to represent but whom she and her cronies have robbed.

Just because the common man doesn’t say much, it would be foolish on the part of Mayawati ji to take him for granted. The Mayawati government is not the first government to take the common man for a ride AND it won’t be the last either to pay a very heavy price for it.
