Young scientists and experts arriving at Lucknow from 21 countries

pc_quantaAround 600 young scientists, experts and world renowned scientists and scholars from 21 countries of the world are arriving here at Lucknow to participate in the 4-day International Science Festival ‘Quanta-2011′ being organized by City Montessori School, Chowk campus which begins on November 19. This information was given by the Principal of CMS Chowk Campus and Secretary of Quanta-2011, Mrs Sadhana Bedi at a press conference held here today. Addressing the press reporters, Mrs Bedi informed that CMS Chowk Campus is organizing this International Competition of Science, Mathematics, Mental Ability and Electronics ‘Quanta-2011′ from 19 to 22 November at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium in which participating countries include Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sultanate of Oman, Thailand and various states of India. Further, Mrs Bedi said that this international event holds a special  place in the hearts of all the students and teachers  in India and abroad. The wide ranging popularity of Quanta is a clear indication of the eagerness of students and renowned scientists from 21 countries to come together on a global platform, exchange their ideas and spread the feelings of World Unity and World Peace. She said that Quanta is being organized for the 17th consecutive year and uptil now as many as 44 countries have registered their participation in Quanta.
Addressing the press reporters, Mrs. Sadhana Bedi, Secretary of Quanta-2011 said that the world has great expectations from young scientists and this science festival endeavours to make these hopes come true by igniting the spirit of inquiry and encouraging rich exchange of ideas in their inquisitive minds. It is this younger generation which will bring about a total transformation in society by using science for the benefit of humanity and making innovations and inventions that change the face of the earth leading to a bright future for all mankind. Mrs Bedi further said that Quanta-2011 will not only bring the young scientists of the world on a global platform but also it will sharpen their intellect and widen their horizon.
Talking to the press personnel, Mrs Bedi said that renowned experts and scholars will be arriving from various countries who will guide the students and help them to realize their fullest potential. Participants of Quanta will also get benefit from their meaningful talks and experience in this field. Some of these experts are as follows : Dr Alexander Urban, Principal of Heidehof Foundation, Germany; Mr Mike Trezecieski, JDS Uniphase Research Engineer, Hong Kong; Prof. Vinicius Ramos Da Silva, Chairman, International Science Olympiad; Mr Richard Murrary Seagris and Ms Lori Marilyn Schuster from Canada; Mr Arkady Brook from Russia and Mrs Farida, Principal of Beacon House School, Pakistan etc. Explaining the exciting array of competitions during Quanta-2011, Mrs Bedi informed that competitions include Debate, Insight (sculpting from computer junk), Acta-Mathematica (Mathematics Quiz), Aqua Challenge (A water craft race), Mental Ability Test and Science and Astronomy Quiz etc. These events will not only test the knowledge and ability of students but will also encourage them to think scientifically, logically and creatively and apply their knowledge to promote human welfare and happiness.
Speaking at the press conference, the Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that now the younger generation must train themselves to lead the world and create a peaceful world society. He said that he had firm faith that the promotion of science and maths will remove age old prejudices from the minds of students and help them to think in terms of human welfare and global understanding. If we think globally, we will also act globally and unitedly. Our values and views will mould our actions and our character. A person who is scientific in outlook and global in thought will work for the benefit of all mankind. Dr Gandhi congratulated the Principal of CMS Chowk for organizing this International event.
