The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Hon’ble Ms. Mayawati ji has said that record production of kharif crop is expected owing to good monsoon this year and all essential facilities to the farmers being provided timely. She said that preparations should be started timely to ensure availability of agricultural inputs for rabi crops also. She has directed to the officers to co-ordinate with the Central Government and take necessary action to ensure the availability of fertilizers for rabi crops.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister gave these directives when Cabinet Secretary Mr. Shashank Shekhar Singh and Chief Secretary Mr. Anup Mishra apprised her of the conclusions of Principal Secretaries/Secretaries review meeting held here today at Yojana Bhawan.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh was an agricultural state, therefore difficulties and problems of farmers should be solved. Reviewing the availability of Kisan Credit Card and distribution of crop loans, she said that any slackness in this regard would not be tolerated. She said that black marketing and smuggling of fertilizers should be prevented and stringent action should be taken against the persons involved in it. She said that special vigil should be maintained on Nepal and Bihar borders. She said that surprise inspections should be made to check the stock of fertilizers of sellers and co-operative societies.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister while emphasizing the need of making tehsil and thana diwas more effective, said that mobile numbers of complainants should be registered and uploaded on the website. If wrong information regarding the disposal of complaints was being provided by the local officers/employees, then action should be taken against them. She said that U.P. Janhit Guarantee Act should be implemented effectively at district level.
Reviewing the power supply in rural areas the Hon’ble Chief Minister said that non-functional transformers should be replaced within fixed time limit. Electric poles should be installed in Dr. Ambedkar villages where C.C. roads are being constructed. Electricity workshops should be set-up in new districts soon, so that farmers including local consumers could not face any difficulty, she said.
Reviewing the works of Health Department, the Hon’ble Chief Minister said that Health Insurance Scheme should be implemented effectively. She directed the officers to release the amount within a week for the construction of post-mortem houses in the new districts. She directed to the District Magistrates to make surprise inspections to ensure hygiene, availability of medicines, doctors and other staff in the hospitals.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister has directed the officers to provide all necessary facilities to the people in flood affected areas and speed up relief, rehabilitation and rescue works. She directed the officers to get roads and other infrastructure works repaired which had become damaged from floods and heavy rains. She directed the officers to put the proposal before the government according to the norms of Central Calamity Relief Fund by 30 September, 2011 for re-construction of all public properties affected from floods and rains. She directed the officers to complete the works regarding C.C. roads, link roads, community centres and solar lights in Dr. Ambedkar villages by the end of November at all costs.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister while reviewing the welfare schemes said that training centres for SC/ST students for different competitive examinations should be run effectively. She said that any slackness and carelessness in the implementation of Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Mahamaya Gharib Arthik Madad Yojana, Savitri Bai Phule Balika Shiksha Madad Yojana and Mahamaya Gharib Balika Ashirwad Yojana, different scholarship and pension schemes etc., would not be tolerated. She said that announcements and laying of foundation stones by her should be reviewed and works regarding it be completed in fixed time period.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister said that all departments should ensure TDS cuts in payments and purchase should be made only from the institutions having TIN number. She also reviewed the development works in Bundelkhand area.
