International Festival of Education “Global TIE - 2011″ concludes

jgandhi_global-tieFour day International Festival of Education “Global TIE-2011 : Global Trends and Innovation in Education” organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram campus at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium concluded today. Chief Guest on the occasion, Prof. Balraj Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor, Dr RML National Law University lit the lamp amidst the colourful educational-cultural items. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Prof. Chauhan said that schools have significant role in designing the society. The teachers of today shape and chisel the future generation. It is needed for the teachers to visualize the future, then only they will be able to show right path to the students. The educators came from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India expressed their views on the occasion of the closing ceremony of Global TIE.
The fourth and closing day of Global TIE-2011 became quite interesting and educative with the meaningful thoughts and inspiring experiences that the educationists came from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various parts of India shared, discussed and exchanged different avenues for education  system. The events of fourth day commenced with meaningful talks on the topic ‘Creating Moral Values in Mind’ by the Founder of CMS and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi. Dr Gandhi emphasized on imparting character building meaningful education and regarded it as the only solution to save the world which is sitting on the stack of bombs. Often the education has to play the role of reformer of the society and that time has come now, he said. Dr Gandhi called upon the teachers not to wait for the policies to bring about revolutionary changes in educational method rather mould themselves to become the role models for students.
In the morning session, Mrs Archana Shukla, HOD, Psychology, Lucknow University spoke on ‘Growing Aggressiveness in Young Children’; Mrs Malini Arora, healer, Stress Reliever and Tarrot Reader spoke on ‘Reducing Stress through Work Habits’ and Mr Shishir Srivastava, HOD, CMS Personality Development and Career Counselling (PDCC) spoke on ‘Helping and Guiding Children through PDCC’. Apart from them, CMS Chief Operating Officer, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said, while speaking on the topic ‘Global Trends in Education’, that the reforms in teachers training should be brought about to make educational reforms. Prof. Geeta Gandhi said that we often ponder over methods of teachings but never conjure about the contents and relevancy of teaching that content. We have to be innovative about the education and take up such educational methodology which can prepare future leaders and not the clerks. We have to take education out of classroom and associate it with life and instil so much self confidence into students that can enable them to face the challenges of tomorrow, she said.
The educators came from India and abroad shared their experiences on the closing day of Global TIE-2011. Mr Kazi Mohammed Siddiqui Haseeb of Modern International School, Saudi Arabia said that the festival had been fantastic. Several useful informations were given here over education processes. Here we learnt to teach the values of world unity and peace through material, social and spiritual education. Mr Shrinarayan Chirakara, Principal, Poddar International School, Ahmedabad said that spiritualism has distinct place in education. The simplicity and precious concepts of Dr Gandhi impressed us, he said. Mr H. G. Padmasiri, educationist, came from Sri Lanka, said that we learnt a lot here and the teachings of world unity and world peace of CMS is really commendable. The name ‘Global TIE’ is itself very imposing. We really congratulate CMS for this event.
Speaking on the occasion, the convenor of Global TIE and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus, Mrs Deepika Watal expressed her hearty gratitude to the educators came to Lucknow and said that their concepts will establish new heights in education. Education needs changes. Education policies of 19th century has become obsolete in modern era. Today the world is emerging as a global village. Changing trends in education must be exchanged among educationists. She thanked them for coming and invited them in next Global TIE.
Mr Hari Om Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, said that about 300 noted educationists came from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India discussed over new trends in education methods, students’ problems and their solutions and teaching techniques during this four day festival of International Festival of Education, ‘Global TIE-2011′. He expressed hope that the discussion among educators of India and abroad will definitely become the medium of change in educational method.
