Grand inauguration of International Festival of Education “Global TIE-2011″

global-tie_participants-1The four-day International Festival of Education ‘Global TIE-2011 - Global Trends and Innovations in Education’ organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus I began at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium from today. Amidst the colourful educational cultural programme organized at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium this evening, the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Mr Jitendra Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Education, UP, formally inaugurated this unique educational festival. The presence of eminent citizens of Lucknow, special guests besides the participating educationists from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India added glitter to the ceremony. It may be mentioned that the educationists arrived here from India and abroad will hold deliberations over latest educational technologies, various students’ problems and their solutions and the new educational methodologies at this festival with a view to equip the future generation for meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Mr Jitendra Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Education, UP, said that education lifts man to a higher level as compared to other beings. Education today, needs to bring mankind closer to each other and propagate love and brotherhood amongst men. Meaningful education is the greatest need of the hour. It makes man spiritually perceptive and shuns the negative traits in human beings like violence, terrorism, bloodshed etc. giving him a calm and composed personality and a positive outlook in life. Mr Kumar said that the initiative of CMS Rajajipuram is indeed praiseworthy and needs to be emulated by the entire educational world. Earlier, the function began with All Religion and World Peace Prayer through which students tried to spread the message of World Unity, World Peace and spiritual awakening in the entire world. The educational-cultural programme presented by CMS students provided a view of the Indian culture of unity in diversity. Participants and guests were highly impressed with these educational items and the entire auditorium reverberated with  loud clappings.
Earlier, in the afternoon session, the educationists from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India arrived here to participate in ‘Global TIE-2011′ met with the media at a press conference and present their thoughts. Talking to the media, the Principal of Hytham Islamic School of Bahrain, Dr Mohd. Tayyab, said that the greatest challenge before us today is how to impart top ideals to the new generation in order to make them total quality persons. Mr. Tayyab said that if a child is given only material education, it may lead him to adopt a wrong path later on. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that spiritual and moral education are also made an integral part of school curriculum. Mrs. SHC DeSilva, from Sri Lanka, praised CMS for organizing this educational festival and providing an international forum to teachers from all over the world, where they can freely discuss the new teaching methods and innovative techniques, ponder on students’ problems and suggest methods to solve them in a constructive way. This will benefit the teaching community of the world at international level.
Chairman of DAV School, Kathmandu, Nepal Mr Ramchandra Khanal said that education needs a revolutionary change. We need to think of solutions to problems of the future now itself. He said that Global TIE also aims at tying the world’s educators with the cord of World Unity. Principal of the same school, Mrs. Bhubaneswari Rao said that religion and spirituality can lead to a vision of the future. Spiritual education adds tremendous value to education and teaches us how to live together in peace and harmony inspite of our religious differences. Other educationists arrived from India and abroad also expressed similar sentiments.
On this occasion, the Convener of Global TIE-2011 and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram, Mrs. D. Watal said that here discussions will be held on how to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century and make them capable of elevating the standard of the global society. She said that as responsible academicians, it is our duty to promote the cause of education, link it to the life, paying special attention to the personalized education thereby making our children both good and smart. Other topics to be discussed included Social Responsibility of a Modern School, Growing Aggressiveness in Young Generation etc. She expressed her hope that Global TIE will help in promoting the spirit of unity in students and the use of new educational methods, strategies and tools will bring about a new revolution in the world of academics.
Renowned educationist and Founder of CMS, Dr  Jagdish Gandhi said that in order to remove the differences of caste, creed and economic imbalances prevailing in the global society and bind the entire humanity with a common thread, there is an urgent need to teach values of divinity, world unity and world peace to students besides enhancing their intellectual capabilities. Dr Gandhi said that purposeful education enhances students’ general awareness thereby making them rise above minute differences and embrace a global outlook. Mr Gandhi expressed his hope that this grand festival being organized by CMS Rajajipuram Campus will prove to be beneficial for all the students, teachers as well as the parents.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that over 300 educationists have arrived here at Lucknow from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Nepal, Sri Lanka and various states of India to participate in the International Festival of Education ‘Global TIE-2011′. At this festival, they will discuss various issues related to education through paper presentation, slide show etc. The topics include, ‘Social Responsibility of a Modern school’, ‘Discovering Creativity’, ‘Role of Innovation Wing at CMS’, ‘Building Dynamic Teams’, ‘Inputs in Promoting Peace Education’ etc.
