Entry invited for the fourth KC Kulish International Award for Excellence in Print Journalism- 2010

kck-logoJaipur, The reputed media group of the country Rajasthan Patrika announces the fourth KC Kulish International Award for Excellence in Print Journalism for the year 2010. This annual award, in memory of Sh Karpoor Chandra Kulish, founder of the group, recognizes outstanding efforts by teams of journalists working in daily newspapers globally to promote rights and freedom for better quality of life. The news/ campaigns published between 1st January,2010 - 31st December,2010 shall be eligible to apply for the award. The winning team is awarded a cash prize of US$11,000 and a medal and certificate to each team member. Maximum of ten entries also receive special awards of merit. The third KC Kulish award -2009 was conferred to the African newspaper from Ghana on the theme of ‘Inclusive Development”. The team was awarded by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in a grand ceremony held at Delhi this year.
This award founded in the year 2007 is the biggest in the category and seeks to honour team of journalists from daily newspapers who have contributed the most compelling stories in print related to the theme. The award theme for this year is ‘Crusade against Corruption’. Reports/campaigns effectively launching crusade against corruption in any sector shall be accepted as entries from across the globe and evaluated on the parameters of thematic relevance, research element, team work, and impact by a panel of jury. Entries can be submitted by September 30, 2011.
Theme for the year 2011 award has also been announced for which the stories published between 1st January-31 December, 2011 shall be eligible. Theme for the year 2011 is ‘Changemakers’. The first KCK award - 2007 was conferred by former President APJ Abdul Kalam to the joint winners of Dawn and HT on ‘Human Development’, the second award went to the story published in HT on ‘Terrorism and Society’ and Meira Kumar, Speaker, Loksabha graced the occasion.
