Hon’ble Chief Minister ji directs officers to ensure protection of all embankments of State
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati Ji has directed the officers to speed up relief and rescue works in the villages affected from seepage in Charsari embankment at one place. This embankment was constructed in the year of 2006-07.
On getting information regarding seepage in embankment, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji immediately directed Principal Secretary Irrigation, Commissioner Faizabad, D.M. Gonda and Barabanki to make proper arrangements for the protection of the embankment after its supervision. She has directed the officers to camp at the work place. She directed the administration to make arrangements for sending the affected people of 05 and 52 villages of Barabanki and Gonda districts respectively at safer places providing them relief. She also directed the officers to get the damaged embankments repaired as soon as possible and take safety measures for the areas affected every year by chalking out an action plan.
Ms. Mayawati ji said that any slackness in relief and rescue works would not be tolerated and stringent action would be taken against the concerning officers/employees in case of any laxity. She has also directed the officers to ensure the protection of other embankments of the state and relief works in case of floods.
