International Biotechnology Festival from 3 August at CMS

pc_quest-11City Montessori School, Rajendra Nagar (Campus I) is organizing a four-day International Biotechnology Festival (QUEST-2011) from 3 to 6 August at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. In this international festival, over 500 young scientists from 11 countries viz Singapore, Russia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Gambia, Nepal, Bhutan and various states of India will exhibit their skills in Biotechnology which is an important branch of science. This information was given by the Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar (Campus I) and the Convener of the Quest-2011, Ms Deepa Tiwari at a press conference  held here today. Addressing the press reporters, Ms Deepa Tiwari said that Biotech combines both Biology and technology in itself and it is a forceful medium to transform the human life. She stated that our aim behind organizing this international event is to inculcate scientific outlook and global perception in students so that a new milestone is set for alround human growth of the world.

At the press conference, talking about this grand function, Ms Deepa Tiwari said that the biotechnology is the need of the present time which is very important in the field of medicines and environment also. She had firm faith that the children who are coming to participate in it will gain beneficial knowledge which they will later use in the interests of humanity. Ms Tiwari said that we feel proud that the children from 11 countries are arriving here at Lucknow to participate in this international event in which the science education will be furthered with the help of interesting competitions. She said that these competitions provide an international forum to children which strengthens their self-confidence and the willingness to improve their talent.

Ms Deepa Tiwari informed that several interesting competitions viz debate, quiz, collage, poster-making, slogan writing, turn coat, website designing and power point presentation will be conducted during this international festival. Besides this, renowned scientists will also register their presence and enlighten the students with their meaningful thoughts and ideas which include Dr. T. Ramasami, Secretary DST, Govt. of India;

Ms Deepa Tiwari further informed that an orientation seminar will also be organized during Quest-2011 in which several renowned personalites will guide guide the participants from India and abroad with their valuable knowledge, experiences and the latest information from this field of Science, Biotechnology. Dr Jagdish Gandhi, renowned educationist and Founder of CMS, present on the occasion said that since 21st century belongs to Biotechnology, a frontier of science offering enormous possibilities in the fields of Healthcare, DNA sequencing, Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Bioinformatics. If India were to take full benefit of the vast potential of Biotechnology, it would need immense trained human resource. Se it would be useful to expose our young minds to the great excitement and opportunities which this area offers. Dr Gandhi highly praised Ms Deepa Tiwari, Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar and Convenor, Quest-2011 for this grand event and said that this international festival will definitely motivate the children of India and aborad to develop their outlook and thinking globally. Dr Gandhi said that nature has made everything beautiful and now it becomes our duty to know the creations of God and judge them scientifically to utilize the knowledge for human betterment.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that this international event will be inaugurated on 3rd of August 2011 at 5.00 pm at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium by the Chief Guest, Mr Abdul Mannan, Minister for Science and Technology, UP. On this occasion, CMS students will present the colourful eduational cultural items in honour of various students team and their leader from India and abroad while eminent personalities will also grace the occasion by their benign presence.
