CMS students team leaves for USA to participate in Children’s International Camp

A five member delegation of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar campus left for Cincinnati, USA to participate in the one month long “Children’s International Summer Village Camp (CISV)” being held there. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Mr. Sharma informed that the members of the team were accorded an emotional farewell with flower garlands by the CMS Founder and renowned educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi, their parents and teachers upon their departure. The student members of this delegation include Miss Priyanshi Ranjan, Miss Pranita Ranjan, Miss Jyoti Bind and Master Samad Usmani. Mrs Smita Dikshit, teacher of CMS Gomti Nagar campus is the leader of the delegation.

usa-delegationMr Sharma informed that this international camp is organized under the auspices of Children’s International Summer Villages (CISV), which has its headquarter in England. A group of 4 children of 11 to 12 years along with their team leaders and Junior Counsellors of 15 to 17 years from various countries including India are participating in this camp from 24th June to 21st July 2011 in the city of Cincinnati, USA. The Junior Counsellors act as the intermediaries between the adults and the children, while the host staff and the leaders comprehensively plan activities that will inspire the participants to strive for a more just and peaceful world.
Mr Sharma informed that CMS sends its students to CISV camp to broaden their thinking globally so that they develop the knowledge of culture, intercultural and international understanding in the company of the children of foreign countries. The camp also helps in developing awareness among the children, grow positive attitude and togetherness and the knowledge of oneness in them. Mr Sharma said that in this 30 day camp the students get a better understanding about culture and tradition of various countries and have a better interaction of mutual friendship and unity.

Mr Sharma informed that in this International Children’s Camp of USA the children will be provided with all the facilities as food, lodging, games, tour to historical places and medical attention. Besides, the children will stay with the host family for two days to closely observe their life-style, food habits and customs. Mr Sharma said that in a month the children will develop a sense of fraternity in the camp as small children have a tender heart which could easily be instilled with the feeling of global peace and brotherhood.
