All allegations levelled by BJP against BSP Government are false and baseless

BJP should show courage to release data of corruption indulged by its own State Governments if it is  really concerned about corruption

Terming the allegations levelled by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) against the State Government through a booklet released here today as mere political drama, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State President Mr. Swami Prasad Maurya said that since the BJP did not have any issue, therefore it was indulging in the politics of false allegations. He said that the BJP leaders, before levelling baseless allegations against the State Government, should have looked into their own deeds. He said that all the allegations levelled by BJP against the BSP Government were false and baseless and motivated by anti-dalit mentality. He said that the BJP was unable to bear that a dalit had been leading the biggest State of the country which was politically a key State.

Mr. Maurya said that the BJP leaders should have given advice to its State Governments including Karnataka where corruption was the order of the day. He said that serious allegations of corruption had been levelled against the Karnataka C.M. and other Ministers. He said that the State was being ruled by BJP. Likewise, serious allegations of corruption had been levelled against BJP Government of M.P. He said that if the BJP leaders were really concerned about corruption, then they should show courage to release data of corruption of these States.

The State President said that the BSP Government led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati ji believed in rule of law by the law. He said that the State Government adopted transparency while taking decisions as per the rules. He said that if any complaint of corruption was received then action was taken against the guilty and if needed, they were sent to jail as well.

Mr. Maurya said that the BJP always compromised on corruption and its leaders were still ready to compromise on this count if they came to power. He said that large number of volumes could be published if corruption cases against the BJP were focused. He said that a National President of this party was caught on camera while accepting money. He said that it was ridiculous that such a party was now projecting itself as champion of corruption.

The BSP State President said that the first BJP Government at the Centre, which lasted only 13 days, took only one decision to approve the project of the American Energy Company Enron. He reminded that later allegations of bribe offered to various leaders of the country by this company were levelled against it.

Mr. Maurya said that people still remembered that how the then NDA Government led by BJP set up a Ministry of Divestment to sell off various Central public undertakings at throw away prices and it had sold several undertaking to capitalists as well. He said that during the regime of NDA Government, the BJP Petroleum Minister had indulged in gross irregularities in the allotment of petrol pumps.

Mr. Maurya said that the BSP Government wanted to solve the problem of shortage of power in the State so that people could get enough power. But, BJP along with other opposition parties was unable to digest it. He said that the problem of shortage of power was not a present day problem, but it was created by various opposition parties and their allies as they totally overlooked this problem previously. He said that because of it no power plant was set up in the State during the regimes of previous governments. He said that BJP was also responsible for the power blues of the State, because the then State Government led by this party, had sold Unchahar and Tanda Thermal Power Projects to NTPC for peanuts. He said that when BSP is making serious efforts to step up power generation in the State and was trying to set up new power plants, the BJP leaders were looking at it the other way.

The BSP State President said that the BJP was trying to create confusion regarding the compensation being provided to the farmers at the time of acquisition of their lands. He said that it was politically motivated. He said that the NDA Government led by BJP did not do anything to solve the problems of the farmers related with the land acquisition. He said that it did not implement any change in the land acquisition law during its 6-year long regime. He said that the State Government was totally sensitive towards the problems of the farmers and their problems were top priority for the same. That’s why; the BSP Government had implemented policy of land acquisition under contract rules. Besides, the new compensation policy announced by the State Government was the most lucrative policy of the country as far as land acquisition compensation was concerned.

Mr. Maurya said that the BJP was once more trying to mislead people regarding the memorials built by the BSP Government to honour great men, saints and gurus. He said that the amount spent on the construction of these memorials had been sanctioned by the U.P. Legislature and the entire expenditure was made in a transparent way. He said that special care had been taken to check misuse of public money. He said that it was shameful for BJP to term these expenses as misuse.
