He firmly said that this amazing effort of CMS will create social and homely atmosphere with pure values. He said that literate children are still far removed from moral and spiritual values in this materialistic age and CMS must be commended for its exemplary effort of grooming younger generation to become the ideal of a good society by showing educational and motivational films.
During the ‘International Film Festival’ today, thousands of children saw ‘Good Morning Squirrels, One & Only, The Abducted Train, The Horse Thief, Guardians of the Law, The Trackers, The Indian Idol, The Gift, Manu, Angulimaal, Pachhtava, Virasat, Bapu Ke Saath, Maa, Roshni, Bade Kam Ki Cheez, Kya Dekhen Hum, God’s Power House, Bridging the Gap etc. during the International Children’s Film Festival. Parents who accompanied their children to enjoy such enlightening films, accepted wholeheartedly that this is an easier and simpler method for teaching values to the children. The children’s films throw light on unity of all religions, unity of mankind, devotion to God, triumph of truth, power of prayer, confidence in one’s self and other qualities of humanity. Since these films are absolutely free, rich and poor children sit together and enjoy films and it strengthens mutual friendship, love and unity among them.
In the afternoon session, a press conference was organized in which the world renowned playback singer, Mr Abhijeet Bhattacharya interacted with the journalists. Talking to media, Mr Bhattacharya praised the efforts of CMS to organize such an International Children’s Film Festival for the character building and all round development of children and said that it will prove to be a milestone in the character building of children as the characters in these films have been taken from our routine lives. Hence they cast a powerful influence on children and they imbibe values shown by these characters. He emphasized that values of life must go alongside education.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the film festival and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, Founder, CMS said that the International Children’s Film Festival is receiving tremendous support from the people of Lucknow and I am overwhelmed and highly obliged to them. Showing his deep concern over the present day films screened on the silver screen, Dr Gandhi said that these films are contaminating the tender minds of children by showing bad habits, violence and new ways to commit suicide. The films shown by CMS during the festival endeavour to inculcate self confidence in children through films and showing how hard work and labour can make one touch the sky. Dr Gandhi happily said that CMS’s International Children’s Film Festival is gaining popularity and recognition not only in Lucknow but throughout the country and famous film actors and intelligentsia are arriving here to charm them.
Mr Verghese Kurian, Director of ICFF-2011, informed that the International Children’s Film Festival is free of charge for one and all and children, youth, parents, guardians and teachers of all the schools of Lucknow are welcome and invited to see children’s films on ‘first come first serve’ basis.
