City Montessori School, Lucknow is organizing “11th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World” from 10 to 14 December 2010 at the World Unity Convention Centre, CMS Kanpur Road, Lucknow. The conference will be inaugurated by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama at a grand inaugural ceremony on 10 December 2010 at the World Unity Convention Centre, CMS Kanpur Road. Around 200 Chief Justices, Judges of Supreme and Constitutional Court, legal luminaries and renowned peace promoters from over 70 countries of the world are arriving here at Lucknow to attend the conference and register their solid support to the cause of ensuring a safe future for the world’s two billion children as well as generations yet-to-be-born. This information was given here today at a press conference by the Convener of the Conference, renowned educationist and Founder of CMS, Dr Jagdish Gandhi. Addressing the press reporters, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that City Montessori School is organizing this historic Judicial Summit for the 11th time in the city of Lucknow focussing on the urgent need to bring about World Unity and World Peace through establishment of a World Parliament and fostering respect for International Law as indicated in Article 51(c) of the Constitution of India. Dr Gandhi further said that City Montessori School is the world’s largest school by pupils in a single city as recognized by the Guinness Book of World records and has been awarded the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education 2002. With over 39,000 students on roll, the school has been making continuous efforts to ensure a safe future for the world’s two billion children by organizing these ‘International Conferences of Chief Justices of the world’ for the past 10 years.
Dr Gandhi explained that this year, Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries from over 70 countries will be gracing the event and laying the foundation of a new and peaceful world order. These countries included Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bhutan, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Costa Rica, Colombia, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Fiji Islands, Finland, France, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Kyrgyz Republic, Latvia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Macedonia, Philippines, Rwanda, Romania Russian Federation, Serbia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tchad, Togo, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, UK, USA & Zimbabwe.
Addressing the press reporters, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that this International Chief Justices’ Conference will be unique in several ways wherein the legal heads of respective nations will ponder and discuss ways and means to do away with burning global problems like poverty, hunger, illiteracy, chaos, confusion, conflict and terrorism by applying the medicine of Enforceable International Law to the decaying body politic of the world. Dr Gandhi said that the eyes of two billion children of the world are resting on the world’s judicial experts whose combined strength is their only hope to get out of this miserable and desperate condition that the world is placed in today. The World Judiciary can raise its voice and bring the Heads of State together on a global platform to form a World Parliament in order to ensure a safe and secure future for the world’s two billion children and generations yet to be born.
Outlining the schedule of the historic World Judicial Meet, Dr Gandhi said that the Conference is based upon Article 51 of the Constitution of India. He said that ‘Article 51 of the Indian Constitution’ is inspired by the Vedic ideal of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam’ (the whole earth is but one family) and it can well form the basis for establishing a World Parliament, World Government and a powerful World Judicial System. Dr Gandhi opined that the world today is passing through a series of global problems which any one nation cannot solve alone. In the present world scenario, it has become absolutely necessary to think in terms of establishing a World Parliament, World Government and a World Judicial System. Only then, can we hope to establish lasting peace and unity and safeguard the future of the world’s two billion children.
Highlighting the aims and objectives of this International Conference of Chief Justices of the world, Dr Gandhi said that CMS organises ‘International Conference of Chief Justices of the world’ year after year to attain the favour of the people of world for solidifying UNO and International Court of Justice, which can contain World Wars, resolve international conflicts, win over terrorism, disarmament, environmental protection, maintain peace and order and international law and expansion of World Judiciary in all nations. This will bring international relations under One World Order and the coming generation will inherit a safe and peaceful future from us. It would further save the materials being wasted in wars and to safeguard the nation, which would further be helpful in removing poverty, conserve environment and welfare of humanity.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma informed that the chief patron of this international conference is Former Chief Justice of India and father of PIL, Padam Vibhushan Hon’ble Mr Justice P N Bhagwati and the patrons of the advisory committee of the conference includes Hon’ble Mr Justice C G Weeramantry, former Vice President, International Court of Justice, the Hague, Netherlands and Hon’ble Sir James R Mancham, Founding President and former Prime Minister, Seychelles. Besides, former judge of Supreme Court of India and former President of Human Rights Commission, Hon’ble Mr Justice A P Mishra is the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee and Hon’ble Mr Justices Syed Saghir Ahmad, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, is the Chairman of the Reception Committee of the Conference.
Mr Sharma expressed his pleasure that City Montessori School is preparing to welcome the Chief Justices, judges and legal luminaries at the 11th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World which is being convened by Dr Jagdish Gandhi for the 11th consecutive time. He expressed his pleasure that the appeal by 39,000 students of CMS is being heard with great seriousness by the esteemed Bench of World Judiciary and this 11th Conference will prove to be a major milestone in the process of the building of a New World Order.
