‘Awake, Arise, Ascend’ will give new direction to younger generation

Renowned literateur and writer Pt. Hari Om Sharma ‘Hari’ and his wife Mrs Maya Devi Sharma, an educationist, had a meeting with the former President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam at the Raj Bhawan last evening. On this occasion, Pt. Hari Om Sharma presented his newly released book ‘Awake, Arise, Ascend’ to the former President. Appreciating this motivational book, Dr Kalam opined that it will show a new direction to the youth of today. I give my heartiest good wishes and congratulations to Pt. Hari Om Sharma, he said, for this wonderful socially useful bok and hope that in future Pt. Sharma will come out with more such inspiring and motivational books focussing on important issues like youth, adolescents and family unity. Dr Kalam praised the simple, direct and practical suggestions and elegant style of writing by the author. He said that the warm and affectionate personality of the author is reflected in the book and it appeals to all age groups - young and old. It is sure to give a new direction to youth. Pt. Hari Om Sharma also mentioned to the former President about his next book Jad, Jameen, Jahan’ and explained that it is based on the harmony, tolerance, mutual cooperation, mutual respect and traditions that bind three generations together.

Pt. Hari Om Sharma conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr A P J Abdul Kalam for sparing his valuable time to meet him at the Raj Bhawan and said that Dr Kalam is an inspiration for children and this book is also dedicated to the younger generation. It is an extremely proud moment for him, he said, to present this book to the former President. Speaking later about his meeting with Dr Kalam, Pt. Sharma said that it was a memorable moment of his life which he will always cherish. Dr Kalam is a person of simple living and noble thinking with a charming personality and impeccable manners. He met me and my wife with great affection and simplicity and said that ‘Pt Hari Om Sharma keep writing like this and inspiring the future generation’.

Mrs Maya Devi Sharma, wife of Pt. Hari Om Sharma and an educationist informed that recently, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs Sheila Dixit had publicly launched the book ‘Awake, Arise, Ascend’ at her Chief Minister’s residence in New Delhi and prior to that, the book was released in Lucknow on 22nd August at a grand ceremony by the Mayor of Lucknow Dr Dinesh Sharma.

Reiterating the features of ‘Awake, Arise, Ascend’, Mrs Maya Devi Sharma further said that this book strengthens human relationships by creating a deeper understanding between mother-father, child-parent, brother-sister, teacher-taught and makes them realize their duties towards each other. It makes us conscious about the artificialities that have erupted in our relationships in this modern era when parents do not have time for children but they do have time for social outings on their own. In fact for every age-group there is a lesson on human values in this book. The book is written in simple and appealing style in English comprising 70 articles spread over 330 pages. The book is bound in an attractive and motivating cover. She also said that another book written by Pt. Hari Om Sharma ‘Hari’ named ‘Jad, Jameen, Jahan’ is poised to hit the stands soon. This new book will create a new landmark in the field of literature and motivate parents to nurture the child as a good human being with a strong character.
